27-year-old man becomes youngest in US to die from Covid-19

A previously healthy 27-year-old man has died from Covid-19 in Santa Clara County, California, making him the youngest person in the United States to die from the disease, according to the Santa Clara County Public Health Department.

The man, who has not been identified, had no underlying health conditions and was not a healthcare worker, according to the department. He was admitted to the hospital on March 25 and died on March 30.

“This is a tragic reminder that COVID-19 can affect anyone, regardless of their age or health status,” said Dr. Sara Cody, the county’s public health officer. “We must all take this virus seriously and do our part to slow its spread.”

The man’s death comes as the number of Covid-19 cases in the United States continues to rise. As of March 31, there have been more than 164,000 confirmed cases and more than 3,000 deaths in the country.

The majority of people who have died from Covid-19 have been elderly or had underlying health conditions. However, the death of this young man shows that anyone can be at risk from the virus.

“This is a wake-up call for everyone,” said Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. “We need to take this virus seriously and do everything we can to protect ourselves and others.”

Here are some tips to help prevent the spread of Covid-19:

* Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
* Avoid touching your face.
* Stay home if you are sick.
* Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
