Google to invest $500 million in semiconductor manufacturing in New York

Google announced on Tuesday that it would invest $500 million in a new semiconductor manufacturing facility in upstate New York, citing the state’s strong workforce and commitment to innovation.

The facility, which will be located in the town of Marcy, Oneida County, is expected to create 500 new jobs and support thousands of additional jobs in the region. The project is also expected to have a significant economic impact on the state, generating an estimated $2.5 billion in economic activity over the next 10 years.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul hailed the announcement as a major victory for the state’s economy and its efforts to become a leader in the semiconductor industry.
